2015 will be the 48th year of Troy Post 43 Baseball. It all began in 1967 as the team was founded by 4 Troy Legionaires: John Rutledge, John Shaunessy, Gene Wright and first coach, Jack Busse. By 1969, the team won its first league title and in 1970 won the 3rd District title to attend its first State Legion Tournament. Over the 40 years, Troy Post 43 Baseball has earned many honors and helped hundreds of young men realize their educational and athletic dreams.
Coach Frosty Brown has been the head coach for the last 43 years. The team has attended many state and national level tournaments. In 2006 the team won its 1400th game. The team has competed at State Connie Mack Tournament for 41 years. Post 43 has earned the right to play in the State American Legion Tourney 24 times and has competed in the NABF World Series 8 times. When those 4 men started the program 4 years ago, they probably never dreamed it would grow into program that has touched so many young men’s lives and that is respected throughout Ohio and the United States. Over 450 former graduates have gone to play college baseball, 42 have signed pro contracts and 2 played in the Major Leagues.
